The GODOX CT-16 is a reliable 16-channel wireless flash trigger system designed for photographers using DSLR cameras and studio or speedlight flashes. This set includes both a transmitter and a receiver, enabling remote synchronization of your flash units with your camera. It operates on a 433MHz frequency, ensuring stable transmission and a working distance of up to 30 meters without directional limitations. This manual provides detailed instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your CT-16 system.

  • 1 x CT-16 Transmitter

3. Setha

3.1 Ukusethwa kwe-Transmitter

  1. Faka ibhethri: Open the battery compartment on the side of the transmitter and insert one 12V battery (e.g., A23 type), ensuring correct polarity.
  2. Mount on Camera: Slide the transmitter onto your camera's hot shoe. Secure it by tightening the locking ring or lever if present.
  3. Setha isiteshi: Locate the 4-digit DIP switches on the top of the transmitter. Set the switches to your desired channel (1-16). Ensure this channel matches the receiver's channel.

3.2 Ukusetha Umamukeli

  1. Faka amabhethri: Open the battery compartment on the receiver and insert dry batteries (e.g., AAA or AA, depending on model), ensuring correct polarity.
  2. Connect to Flash:
    • For Speedlights: Slide the speedlight onto the receiver's hot shoe.
    • For Studio Flashes: Connect the receiver to the studio flash's sync port using the provided sync cord (and 3.5mm to 6.35mm adapter if needed).
  3. Setha isiteshi: Locate the 4-digit DIP switches on the receiver. Set them to the exact same channel as your transmitter.
  4. Mount Receiver (Optional): The receiver has a 1/4" tripod mount at the bottom, allowing it to be attached to light stands or other accessories.

3.3 PC Sync Cord Connection (for cameras without hot shoe)

If your camera does not have a standard hot shoe, you can connect the CT-16 transmitter via its PC sync port using the provided PC sync cord. Connect one end of the PC sync cord to the transmitter's PC sync port and the other end to your camera's PC sync port.

  1. Vula: Turn on both the transmitter and receiver using their respective ON/OFF switches. The indicator light on the receiver should illuminate.
  2. Test Trigger: Press the test button on the receiver to confirm it can fire the connected flash. The flash should fire.

  4. Amandla eFlash: The GODOX CT-16 is a manual trigger. Flash power must be set manually on your flash unit. It does not support TTL or HSS functions.
