- Always ensure the power supply is disconnected before working on electrical connections.
- Use 10-16 gauge copper conductors rated for at least 75°C (167°F) for all connections.
- Do not remove the insulator.
- This device is intended for indoor use or in an appropriate outdoor enclosure.

5. Ukufakwa
Okubalulekile: Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician and comply with all applicable electrical codes. Ensure power is disconnected before proceeding.
- Ukukhweza: Securely mount the time switch enclosure to a wall or suitable surface using appropriate fasteners. Ensure the location is protected from moisture if not rated for outdoor exposure.
- Voltage Ukukhetha: Open the front cover. Locate the voltage selector switch inside the unit. Before connecting power, set the selector to the correct voltage (120V, 208V, 240V, or 277V) matching your electrical system. Refer to Figure 3 for the location of the voltagisikhethi.
- Izintambo:
- Route power supply wires into the enclosure through designated knockouts.
- Connect the Line (L1, L2 if applicable) and Load wires to the appropriate terminals as indicated on the wiring diagram (Figure 4).
- Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Use 10-16 gauge copper conductors.
- Refer to the specific wiring diagram in Figure 4 that matches your application (e.g., 120 VAC SPST, 240 VAC DPST).
- Ukufakwa/Ukuhlolwa Kwebhethri: The unit typically comes with AAA batteries pre-installed. Verify they are correctly seated. These batteries maintain programming during power outages.
- Vala Ikhava: Once wiring is complete and verified, close and secure the front cover.
- Buyisela Amandla: Restore power at the circuit breaker. The unit should power on.

6. Ukusetha Kwasekuqaleni
After power is restored, the unit will display the current time and date. If the display is blank or incorrect, follow these steps:
- Setha Isikhathi Samanje Nosuku:
- Cindezela inkinobho IMODE button until "SET TIME" appears.
- Sebenzisa i- + futhi - izinkinobho ukuze ulungise ihora, bese ucindezela NGENA/OKULANDELAYO.
- Adjust minutes, then press NGENA/OKULANDELAYO.
- Adjust the current day of the week, then press NGENA/OKULANDELAYO.
- Set Current Date:
- Cindezela inkinobho IMODE button until "SET DATE" appears.
- Sebenzisa i- + futhi - buttons to adjust the year, then press NGENA/OKULANDELAYO.
- Adjust the month, then press NGENA/OKULANDELAYO.
- Adjust the day, then press NGENA/OKULANDELAYO.
- Ukulungiswa Kwesikhathi Sokonga Imini (i-DST): The ET1705C automatically adjusts for DST. Ensure the DST setting is enabled (usually a default setting). Consult the on-screen prompts or the full manual for specific DST configuration if needed.
7. Ukusebenza nokuHlela
The ET1705C allows for up to 28 ON/OFF events (14 ON and 14 OFF) to be programmed across the 7 days of the week.
- Ingena kumodi yohlelo: Cindezela inkinobho IMODE button repeatedly until "PROGRAM" appears on the display.
- Setting ON Events:
- The display will show "1 ON". Use + futhi - buttons to set the desired ON time (hour and minute). Press NGENA/OKULANDELAYO after each adjustment.
- Next, select the day(s) of the week for this ON event. You can select individual days or blocks of days (e.g., Mon-Fri, Sat-Sun, Mon-Sun). Press USUKU to cycle through day options. Press NGENA/OKULANDELAYO ukuqinisekisa.
- Setting OFF Events:
- After setting an ON event, the display will automatically move to "1 OFF". Set the desired OFF time and day(s) using the same method as for ON events.
- Repeat this process for all desired ON/OFF events (up to 14 pairs).
- Reviewing Izinhlelo: In PROGRAM mode, use NGENA/OKULANDELAYO to cycle through all programmed events.
- Clearing Programs: To clear a specific event, navigate to it in PROGRAM mode and press CLEAR ENTRY. To clear all programs, press and hold CLEAR MEM.
- Ukukhipha Mathupha:
- Ukukhipha Isikhashana: Cindezela inkinobho KHANYISA CISHA button to manually switch the load ON or OFF. This override remains active until the next programmed event.
- Permanent Override: Cindezela bese ubamba i KHANYISA CISHA button for a few seconds. The display will indicate a permanent override, and the unit will remain in that state until manually changed or the override is cancelled.
- Exiting Program Mode: Cindezela inkinobho IMODE button until the current time and day are displayed, indicating normal operation.
8. Isondlo
- Ukushintshwa Kwebhethri: The ET1705C uses two (2) AAA Alkaline batteries for program backup. These batteries typically last for 3 years. When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to avoid loss of programming.
- Nqamula ugesi kuyunithi esesiphulini sesekethe.

- Carefully remove the old AAA batteries and insert new ones, observing correct polarity.
- Close the cover and restore power.
