1. Isingeniso
This instruction manual provides essential information for the safe and effective use of the Danfoss 101N0640 variable frequency compressor driver/board. This unit is designed to control 12V or 24V DC compressors typically found in car refrigerators and similar mobile refrigeration systems. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation to ensure proper function and to prevent damage to the unit or associated equipment.
2. Ulwazi Lokuphepha
ISEXWAYISO: This device operates with electrical current. Improper installation or use can result in electric shock, fire, or damage to the product and other components. Installation should only be performed by qualified personnel with knowledge of DC electrical systems.
- Always disconnect power from the battery or power source before attempting any installation, wiring, or maintenance.
- Ensure proper fusing is in place for the power supply to the driver board. As indicated on the unit, PRE-FUSE REQUIRED.
- Do not expose the unit to moisture, extreme temperatures, or corrosive environments.
- Verify all connections are secure and correctly polarized before applying power.

Before installation, ensure the power supply is disconnected. The driver board requires a pre-fuse on the power input line for protection. Refer to the images below for visual guidance on the unit's connections and labels.
4.1 Power and Control Connections

The main connector on the side of the unit features 8 pins. Based on the labeling visible on the unit (Figure 1), these pins are designated as follows:
- - : Negative power input (Ground)
- + : Positive power input (12V or 24V DC)
- F : Function/Control Pin
- C : Control Pin
- A : Control Pin
- D : Control Pin
- C : Control Pin (second 'C' pin)
- P : Control Pin
Qaphela: A detailed wiring diagram specifying the exact function of each control pin (F, C, A, D, C, P) is not provided in this manual. Refer to the compressor or refrigerator manufacturer's documentation for specific wiring instructions related to these control signals.
4.2 Fusing Requirement

As indicated on the bottom of the unit (Figure 2), a fuse must be installed on the positive power input line before the driver board. The fuse rating should be appropriate for the compressor's maximum current draw and the wire gauge used. Consult your compressor's specifications for the recommended fuse size.
5. Iziqondiso Zokusebenza
The Danfoss 101N0640 is a variable frequency compressor driver, meaning it controls the speed of the compressor motor to optimize cooling performance and energy efficiency. Once correctly installed and wired to a compatible compressor and power source, the unit will typically operate automatically based on the control signals it receives from the refrigerator's thermostat or control panel.
- Vula: After ensuring all connections are secure and fused, apply 12V or 24V DC power to the '+' and '-' terminals.
- Compressor Control: The driver board will interpret signals from the refrigerator's control system via the 'F', 'C', 'A', 'D', 'C', 'P' pins to start, stop, and adjust the speed of the compressor.
- Ukusebenza Okuvamile: The compressor will cycle on and off as needed to maintain the desired temperature within the refrigerator.
If the compressor does not start or operate as expected, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
6. Isondlo
The 101N0640 compressor driver board is designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance. However, periodic checks can help ensure its longevity and performance:
- Gcina Uhlanzekile: Ensure the unit is free from dust, dirt, and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Hlola Ukuxhumana: Periodically inspect all electrical connections to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion. Loose connections can lead to overheating or intermittent operation.
- Izimo Zemvelo: Ensure the operating environment remains within the recommended temperature and humidity ranges to prevent damage to electronic components.
7. Ukuxazulula izinkinga
If you encounter issues with the 101N0640 driver board or the compressor it controls, perform the following basic troubleshooting steps:
- Awekho Amandla: Check the main power fuse (the pre-fuse required for the unit) and ensure the battery or power supply is providing the correct voltage (12V or 24V DC). Verify all power connections are secure.
- I-Compressor Ayiqali: Confirm that the refrigerator's thermostat or control system is calling for cooling. Check the control signal connections to the driver board.
- Ukusebenza Kwesikhashana: Inspect all wiring for loose connections or signs of damage. Ensure the unit is not overheating due to poor ventilation.
- Imisindo Engajwayelekile: If the compressor makes unusual noises, this may indicate an issue with the compressor itself rather than the driver board.
For advanced diagnostics or if the problem persists, it is recommended to consult a qualified refrigeration technician or contact the manufacturer's support.
7.1 Product Identification for Support

The back of the unit (Figure 3) contains identification information including a QR code, ID: 40911359781, Version: 01, Date: 1811, and Software Version: 2.26. Have this information ready when contacting technical support.
