This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your CR319 scanner.

2. Getting Started & Setup

The LAUNCH CR319 is a plug-and-play device that requires no batteries or external applications. Simply connect it to your vehicle's OBD2 port.

1. Locate the DLC (Data Link Connector): The 16-pin OBD2 port is usually located under the dashboard on the driver's side. Refer to your vehicle's manual if you cannot find it.

3. Vula Ignition: Turn the vehicle's ignition to the 'ON' position (engine can be off or running, depending on the test). The scanner will power on automatically.

3.1 Full OBDII Functions

The CR319 supports all 10 modes of OBDII diagnostics:

• Funda Amakhodi: Retrieves Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the vehicle's computer to identify the error location.
• Sula Amakhodi: Isula ama-DTC bese icima i-Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), also known as the 'Check Engine' light.
• Idatha ebukhoma: Displays real-time information from the engine sensors, such as RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temperature, etc.

• Ukulungela I / M: Checks the status of emission-related systems to determine if they are operating correctly and ready for inspection/maintenance testing.
• Qhwa Kohlaka: Records a snapshot of vehicle conditions (parameters) at the moment an emission-related fault occurs, aiding in diagnosis.

• EVAP System (Mode $8): Allows initiation of a leak test for the evaporative emission control system.

3.2 DTC Lookup Library

The CR319 includes a built-in DTC lookup library, eliminating the need to search online for code definitions.

4.1 Supported Vehicle Types

• European Cars: Standard OBD2 Protocols from 2003 to present (e.g., Alfa Romeo, SAAB, Acura, Opel, Audi, Seat, Peugeot, Renault, Bentley, Skoda, Daewoo, Benz, Daihatsu, Land Rover, BMW, Vauxhall, Citroen, Volvo, Fiat, VW, Ford, Jaguar).
• Japanese/Korean Cars: Standard OBD2 Protocols from 2006 to present (e.g., KIA, Isuzu, Honda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Dacia, Lexus, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota).
• Chinese Cars: Standard OBD2 Protocols from 2009 to present.

Qaphela: While compatible with most cars, regional differences in OBD2 protocol implementation or specific vehicle designs may lead to incompatibility with some models. The scanner supports 12V gasoline cars only; it does not support Diesel, 24V Heavy Duty, Hybrid, or Electric vehicles.
