This device is designed to assist vehicle owners and technicians in diagnosing engine-related issues by reading and clearing diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), viewing live data, and performing various diagnostic tests on OBDII/EOBD compliant vehicles manufactured since 1996.
The YM119 provides a user-friendly interface with a color screen, making vehicle diagnostics accessible and efficient. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new scanner.

2. Ulwazi Lokuphepha
Always read and understand all safety messages and instructions in this manual before operating the scanner. Failure to do so may result in injury or damage to the scanner or vehicle.
- Ukuphepha Kwezimoto: Always perform automotive testing in a safe environment. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry when working on an engine. Keep hair, clothing, hands, tools, and test equipment away from all moving or hot engine parts.
- Ukuphepha Kagesi: The vehicle's battery can produce explosive gases. Keep sparks, open flames, and smoking materials away from the battery. Always wear eye protection and appropriate clothing when working near the battery.
- Ukungenisa umoya: Ensure the work area is well-ventilated. Exhaust fumes contain carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas.
- Ukuthungela: Do not connect or disconnect test equipment with the ignition on or engine running, unless specifically instructed to do so by the manual.
- Ukunikezwa kwamandla kagesi: The scanner is powered directly from the vehicle's OBDII port. Ensure the vehicle's battery is adequately charged before performing diagnostics.

Scanner Components:
- Color Display Screen: Displays menu options, diagnostic data, and results.
- OBDII Connector Cable: Connects the scanner to the vehicle's OBDII port.
- Izinkinobho Zokuzulazula:
- Inkinobho KULUNGILE: Iqinisekisa okukhethiwe noma ifaka imenyu.

4. Setha
The Riokko YM119 scanner is designed for quick and easy setup. No batteries are required as it draws power directly from the vehicle's OBDII port.

- Locate the vehicle's 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC). The DLC is usually located under the dashboard on the driver's side. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for the exact location if you cannot find it.
- Turn the vehicle's ignition to the OFF position.
- Firmly plug the scanner's OBDII connector into the vehicle's DLC.
- Turn the vehicle's ignition to the ON position (engine off). The scanner will automatically power on and display the main menu.
Note: If the scanner does not power on, ensure the connection is secure and check the vehicle's fuse for the OBDII port.
5. Iziqondiso Zokusebenza
Once the scanner is connected and powered on, you can navigate through the main menu using the UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, OK, and EXIT buttons.

5.1. Diagnosis Menu
From the main menu, select 'Diagnosis' and press OK to enter the diagnostic functions.
- Funda Amakhodi:
This function reads the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) stored in the vehicle's Engine Control Unit (ECU). These codes indicate specific issues detected by the vehicle's onboard diagnostic system.
- Select 'Read Codes' and press OK.
- The scanner will display any stored Pending, Confirmed, or Permanent DTCs.
- Use UP/DOWN to scroll through codes if multiple are present.
- Sula Amakhodi:
This function clears all stored DTCs from the vehicle's ECU and turns off the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), also known as the Check Engine Light. Warning: Clearing codes does not fix the underlying problem. Ensure the issue is resolved before clearing codes, or the light will likely return.

- Select 'Erase Codes' and press OK.
- Qinisekisa ukukhetha kwakho lapho utshelwa.
- The MIL will turn off, and DTCs will be cleared.
- View Qhwa Kohlaka:
Freeze Frame Data is a snapshot of sensor values recorded by the ECU at the moment a DTC was set. This data can help identify the conditions under which the fault occurred.

- The scanner will display the recorded parameters. Use UP/DOWN to scroll.
- Ukulungela I / M:
I/M Readiness (Inspection/Maintenance Readiness) indicates whether the various emissions-related systems on the vehicle are operating correctly and have completed their self-tests. This is crucial for emissions testing.
- Select 'I/M Readiness' and press OK.
- The scanner will display the status of various monitors (e.g., Misfire Monitor, Fuel System Monitor, Catalyst Monitor) as 'OK' (complete) or 'INC' (incomplete).
- Live PCM Data:
This function displays real-time operational parameters from the vehicle's Powertrain Control Module (PCM). This data can be viewed as numerical values or graphical curves.

- Select 'Live PCM Data' and press OK.
- Choose 'View Data' for numerical values or 'Graph Data' for graphical representation (if available for the parameter).
- Use UP/DOWN to scroll through parameters.
- Imininingwane Yemoto:
Retrieves vehicle information such as Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Calibration ID (CIN), and Calibration Verification Number (CVN).
- Select 'Vehicle Information' and press OK.
- The scanner will display the available information.

Monitors the results of oxygen sensor tests.
- Select 'O2 Sensor Test' and press OK.

5.2. Ukuhlolwa kwebhethri
The YM119 can perform a quick test of the vehicle's battery voltage.

- From the main menu, select 'Battery' or press the 'BAT' button.

5.3. DTC Lib (DTC Library)
This function allows you to look up the definition of a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).
- From the main menu, select 'DTC Lib' and press OK.
- Enter the DTC using the navigation buttons (UP/DOWN for numbers, LEFT/RIGHT to move cursor).

The 'Setting' menu allows you to customize various scanner preferences.
