- Do not install within 6 inches of a corner or within 4 inches of a wall (for ceiling mounting).
4.2 Izintambo Iziyalezo
The AMIC1510SB is designed for hardwired installation. It typically connects to a standard 120V AC household electrical circuit. The alarm comes with three wires:
- Intambo Emnyama: Connect to the hot (live) wire of the AC circuit.
- Intambo Emhlophe: Connect to the neutral wire of the AC circuit.
- Intambo Ephuzi: Used for interconnecting multiple alarms. Connect to the interconnect wire of other compatible alarms. If not interconnecting, cap this wire with a wire nut.
Secure all wire connections with approved wire nuts. After wiring, attach the alarm to the mounting bracket and restore power to the circuit. The alarm will chirp once and the green POWER LED will illuminate, indicating it is receiving AC power.

5.2 Inkinobho Yokuhlola
Press and hold the "HOLD TO TEST WEEKLY" button for a few seconds. The alarm will sound a loud, pulsating horn, and the indicator lights will flash. This confirms the alarm's electronics, horn, and battery backup are functioning correctly. Release the button to stop the test.
5.3 Silence Button
In case of a nuisance alarm (e.g., from cooking smoke), press the "PRESS TO SILENCE" button. This will temporarily silence the alarm for approximately 10 minutes. If the smoke or CO concentration persists, the alarm will reactivate.
