4. Setha

4.1 Ukufakwa kwebhethri

The Fluke 362 is battery-powered. Although batteries are not included with all packages, they are required for operation. To install or replace batteries:

  1. Ensure the meter is turned OFF and no test leads are connected.
  2. Thola isembozo segumbi lebhethri ngemuva kwemitha.
  3. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw(s) securing the cover.
  4. Remove the cover and insert the required batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).
  5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw(s).

4.2 Uxhumano Lomholi Wokuhlola

Okwevoltage, resistance, and continuity measurements, connect the test leads to the input terminals:

  • Insert the black test lead into the “COM” (common) terminal.
  • Insert the red test lead into the “VΩ” (voltage/resistance) terminal.

5. Iziqondiso Zokusebenza

5.1 Ukuvula / Ukuvula

Rotate the function dial from the “OFF” position to any desired measurement function to power on the meter. To power off, rotate the dial back to the “OFF” position.

5.2 Ukukhetha Umsebenzi

Use the rotary function dial to select the desired measurement mode (e.g., A∼ for AC current, A— for DC current, V∼ for AC voltage, V— for DC voltage, Ω for resistance, or continuity).

5.3 AC/DC Current Measurement (Clamp)

To measure current using the clamp umhlathi:

  1. Rotate the function dial to A∼ (AC current) or A— (DC current).
  2. For DC current measurements, press the “ZERO” button to clear any offset before clamping.
  3. Vula i-clamp umhlathi ngokucindezela i-trigger.
  4. Enclose only one conductor within the jaw. Ensure the jaw is fully closed.
  5. Funda inani lamanje esibukweni.

5.4 AC/DC Voltage Ukukala

Ukukala ivolumutage:

  1. Xhumanisa ama-test lead njengoba kuchaziwe kuSigaba 4.2.
  2. Rotate the function dial to V∼ (AC voltage) or V— (DC voltagfuthi).
  3. Xhuma ama-test probes ngokuhambisana nesekethe noma ingxenye ofuna ukuyilinganisa.
  4. Funda ivolumutage kusibonisi.

5.5 Isilinganiso Sokumelana

Ukukala ukumelana:

  1. Qinisekisa ukuthi isekethe noma ingxenye ayinamandla ngaphambi kokulinganisa ukumelana.
  2. Xhumanisa ama-test lead njengoba kuchaziwe kuSigaba 4.2.
  3. Rotate the function dial to Ω (resistance).
  4. Connect the test probes across the component.
  5. Funda inani lokumelana esibonisweni.

5.6 Ukuhlola Ukuqhubeka

To perform a continuity test:

  3. Rotate the function dial to the continuity position (often shared with resistance, indicated by a speaker icon).
  4. Connect the test probes across the component or wire.
  5. The meter will emit an audible tone if continuity is detected (resistance below a certain threshold).

5.7 Zero Function (DC Measurements)

The “ZERO” button is primarily used for DC current measurements. Before taking a DC current reading, with the clamp jaw open and no conductor inside, press the “ZERO” button to eliminate any residual offset and ensure accurate readings.

5.8 Umsebenzi wokubamba idatha

Press the “HOLD” button to freeze the current reading on the display. This is useful for taking readings in hard-to-see locations. Press “HOLD” again to release the reading and return to live measurement.

6. Isondlo

6.1 Ukuhlanza

To clean the meter, wipe it with a damp indwangu kanye nensipho yokuwasha ethambile. Ungasebenzisi izinto zokukhuhla noma izinyibilikisi. Qinisekisa ukuthi imitha yomile ngokuphelele ngaphambi kokusebenzisa.

6.2 Ukushintshwa Kwebhethri

When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to maintain measurement accuracy. Refer to Section 4.1 for battery installation instructions.

6.3 Isitoreji

If the meter is not used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage. Store the meter in a dry, cool environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
